The bar chart illustrates the proportions of the couples who divorced between 2011 and 2015 in two different countries.
Overall, the figure for divorces in Sweden decreased gradually while there was an slightly upward trend in this period. In addition, the percentage of Sweden couples divorcing was higher than that of Finland couples, with notable exception in the year 2015.
In the 2011-2012 period, divorce rate in Sweden went up slightly, approximately 5% and reached the peak by 50%. In the remainder of years, there was a gradual decline in Sweden, about 10%. In the year 2015, the percentage of divorces in Sweden is lowest, nearly 37%.
From 2011 to 2012, below 40% of people divorced in Sweden while it was over 30% in Finland. In the following years, the rate of divorces in Finland went up a little bit, about 5% and remained over 40% in the 2014-2015. The figures of divorces in two separate countries were mostly the same, which was not beyond 10%. In the year 2012, there was a large distance between the rate of divorces in two European countries, below 20% and the rate of Sweden couples accounted for largest proportion. However, they were similar figure in both countries from 2014 to 2015, under 6%.
