The pie charts show data on the percentage of pupils at one college in England who can speak more than one language which is not their mothe tongue.
Overall, the figure of students who can speak Spanish only is higher than that of the remaining groups in two different years. In addition, the rate of bilingual students in 2000 and 2010 is the same.
30% of English students at that university just spoke Spanish while the figure for students who spoke the same languages in 2010 was 35%, which was slightly higher than in 2000. Moreover, the proportion of people speaking another language was in the second rank in two separate years, at 15% and 20% respectively. The rate of students who just spoke English was quite high in the year 2000; however, there was an dramatical decline in 2010, precisely 10%.
In the year 2000, the rate of students who just spoke German is the same with one of pupils speaking 2 different languages, at exactly 10%. Additionally, the rates of students speaking German only in 2000 and 2010 are alike, 10%. 15% of pupils speaking more than one language in 2010 increased slightly than in 2000, 5 %.
