The bar chart shows the top ten countries for production and consumption of electricity in 2014.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart depicts the production as well as consumption of electricity in ten different countries in 2014. Out of all the nations in the world, these ten are the highest producers and consumers of the electricity for the given calender year.

From the chart, it can clearly be inferred that the production and consumption numbers of all the ten countries are almost similar, with a very narrow margin between the production and consumption numbers.

Out of all ten countries, China is the highest producer of the electricity, producing just shy of 5400 billion kWh of electricity in the entire year. Whereas Korea Republic produces only 485 billion kWh of electricity, not even a tenth of what China delivered that same year.

In terms of consumption as well, we see a similar trend, with China again topping the consumption and Korea Republic staying at the bottom. Both the countries consume almost the entire amount of electricity produced by each one in that calender year.

If you look at it closely, United States was able to save more energy as it required 200 billion kWh less energy than it produced and hence is the most efficient out of all. On the other hand, Germany required about 60 billion kWh more than it could produce and hence is the least efficient out of all the ten countries.
