Overall, there had been more males than females arrested within these five years. The principal charge for both genders is public drinking.
By 1994, there were 32% of males got arrested with over 30% of them drinking in public, and approximately 26% of them drunk driving. The proportion of females who were arrested was much lower, with only 9%. However, nearly 37% of them were accused of drinking in public, and only around 14% of women were drunk driving.
According to the survey, other changes such as breach of the order and theft were mostly offended by men with about 17% and 16% respectively. Nearly 20% of women were arrested due to assault, while only just over 15% of men offended this crime. Other prisoners were not willing to reveal the reasons why they were arrested.
