Overall, within these years, the value of imports rose by almost double. At the beginning of the period, Canada accounted for the predominant import sources, whereas at the end of the researching years, sources imported by other countries had surpassed the countries listed.

Regarding the table, the total revenue in 1988 was at approximately 6.5 billion, increasing to around 8.the billion in 1992, and amounting to nearly 11 billion in 2000.

In terms of the source of fish importation, Canada occupied as the major supplier at 60% in 1988, far more than China and other countries which solely accounted for less than 15% and 30% respectively. By 1992, other countries had replaced Canada as the main sources at over 45% and over 40% by the year 2000. Until 2000, China witnessed a nearly threefold increase to 30%.
