The chart shows the percentage of groups of companies in Australia which used social media for business purposes between 2012 and 2016.
The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian small, medium and large enterprises that utilized social media for business purposes during a 5 years period, from 2012 to 2016.
Overall, large companies appeared to be more actively engaged in employing social media for commercial purposes than the rest as their rate for media usage stayed above 50% throughout the years. Another noticable trend would be the collective drop in using social network in 2015 among all subjects of study.
In 2012, almost 30% of small enterprises in Australia took advantages of social media for their business affairs. Such rate of medium companies was slightly higher at just over 30% while for large companies, the proportion stood at 80%. The following year, whereas the figure of medium companies rose to almost 50%, there was little to change in the rates of the residual parties. These figures stayed more or less the same in 2014 for medium and large firms, despite a growth of nearly 10% in using social media which small companies experienced.
However, in 2015, a collective and significant decline could be observed in the rate of using social media among 3 types of company: a fall of approximately 7%, 20% and 23% was experienced by small, medium and large companies respectively. This trend did not last long as the figures quickly bounced back to almost 50% for small firms, 55% for medium firms and 80% for large firms in 2016.
