The pie chart depicts the proposition of water using over the world, while the bar chart gives figures of water use in different parts of the world in 2000. Both diagrams show the percentage of three categories: agriculture, domestic and industry with the unit of those patterns is percent (%).
Overall, almost, with 70%, water consumption of the world was used for agriculture, while there was about one-quarter was spent on industry and 8% for domestic purpose. Besides, the data show that water use in the two developing countries, China and India, is closer to the world pattern of consumption.
To be more precise, the word pattern is almost identical to that for China with only 1% less in the agriculture part and 1% more in the domestic activities, whereas India used more water (92%) for agriculture and the rest for both domestic and industry sections. In contrast, New Zealand used almost the same amount of water, nearly 45% for each, in cultivation and household use, and a slightly higher 10% was consumed by industry.
On the other hand, the pattern in Canada is almost reverse that of the world, with only the smallest proposition (8%) of water use is spent in agriculture and a massive 80% by industry. Besides, only 12% was used by the domestic sector, which was a quarter of New Zealand industrial consumption.
