The given pie chart shows world water consumption in 2000 and the bar chart compares water usage in three categories in China, India, New Zealand and Canada in the same year.
Overall, it seems clear that the vast majority of water was used for agricultural purpose in 2000. By contrast, Canada's industry consumed the largest amount in the year shown.
Looking more closely to the first chart, one can see that 70% water was used in agriculture. Meanwhile, the amount of water used in industry took up 22% in the period shown. The world's household water usage accounted for only 8% in 2000, much less than the amount used in two other categories.
In terms of the bar chart, it is apparent that India spent the largest amount of water in agriculture (92%) compared to the other nations. The opposite pattern can be seen in Canada's water consumption for agriculture due to the fact that 80% water in this country was used for industry. Domestic use of water was relatively low except for New Zealand, which spent 46% for household.
