The charts below show that results of a survey of adult education. The first chart shows the reasons why adults decide to study. The pie chart shows how people think the cost of adult education should be shared.

The bar chart gives information about the percentage of each reason given by adult individuals regarding the decision of continuing their study, plus the pie chart illustrates how should the costs of each course covered by either taxpayers, individuals, or employers.

Overall, most of the participants taken part in the survey decided to study because of interest in the subject followed by gaining qualifications. In addition, they mention that a large number of costs of courses should be provided by individuals themselves.

Regarding the reasons for studying, it is clear that the two highest reasons are interesting in the subject and gaining qualifications, at 40% and 38%, respectively. However, the reason 'helpful for current job' given by 22% of adults. The reasons for gaining promotion and getting enjoyment out of learning are similar given by one-fifth of participants. In addition, the two lowest percentages of people decide to study in order to have the ability to change jobs and meet people, at 12% and 9%, respectively.

Looking at the second chart, we can see that the most proportion of the population (40%) who participated in the survey believe that individuals who take a course should pay for its costs, followed by employers with 35% and taxpayers with 25%.
