The graph provides the data about the consumption of energy in the USA from a 2008 report from 1980 with the projections for 2030 in terms of Quadrillion units.
Overall, it is clear that, out of all the other fuels, Petrol and Oil had made the highest contribution and had followed an upward trend throughout the entire period whereas, the remaining fuels such as Nuclear, Solar/Wind, and Hydropower had made the least contribution.
From the years 1980 to 1995, the number of units consumed by the country from Nuclear, Solar/Wind, and Hydropower energies was 5 units each. During the same period, fuel consumption from the Coal and natural gases were around 15 and 20 quadrillion units. In the same way, the Petrol and Oil had contributed to a high value of about 35 units in the same year.
Although there were some changes in the mid-period, the values increased significantly between 2010 and 2030, according to its forecasts. To begin with, the amount of energy consumed by the United States from nuclear sources is expected to be higher than the records for solar/wind and water power. Second, there was a progressive increase in energy consumed from black mines and natural gas. Finally, by 2030, the country's energy usage peaked at around 50 quadrillion units from Petrol and Oils.
