Essay topics:

The graph below gives information about international tourist arrivals in five countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graphs provide information on the number of foreigners ( in million ) coming to visit five different countries namely Brazil, Egypt, Malaysia, France and America in 15 years starting from 1995.

From an overall perspective, all five nations welcomed more tourists; however, while the number of international visitors insignificantly changed in Brazil and Egypt, this number for France made a huge shift.

In terms of Brazil and Egypt, their global visitor populations were low compared to other nations, with both standing at nearly 10 million in the initial year. Subsequently, the two figures experienced a tedious increase until 2010, with 12 and 15 million, respectively.

Turning to the USA and Malaysia, both two countries shared a practical same pattern, although the numbers of foreign tourists were significantly different. In 1995, America had roughly 70 million visitors while the number for Malaysia was only slightly above 20 million. Subsequently, both nations witnessed a moderate growth by 2005, with approximately 90 and 30 million, respectively. However, after that timeline, the former’s number showed a slight decline while the latter gradually improved by 15 million at the end of the span.

Given France, this country saw the biggest change in the global tourist number compared to others. Starting with roughly 30 million in the first year, the number then rapidly surged by 30 million after 5 years. Following that, the figure progressively jumped from 60 million to about 80 million ( the same as the USA ) in the last decade.
