The line chart illustrates the figure for Vietnamese students studying in the average in France, Russia and America over a period of 15 years starting 2000.

It can be clearly seen that while the figure for Vietnamese students studying in France and America experienced a substantial growth the opposite was true for Russia.

In 2000, the average number of Vietnamese students studying in France was highest, standing at 3.5 million in comparison with 3 million students in Russia and 1.5 million students in America. Over the next five years, the average figure for Vietnamese students studying in France and Russia went through a significant decline of 1 million students. By contrast, a steady increase of a half of 1 million was seen in that average figure in America.

The period 2005-2010 witnessed a stability in the number of Vietnamese students studying France around 3.5 million. while the average figure for Vietnamese students studying russia experienced a slight reduction from 2.2 million to 1.8 million students, that the average figure increased sharply by 1 million in America.
