The graph below shows the number of books read by men and women at Burnaby Public Library from 2011 to 2014.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant

The given graph consists of the data from Burnaby Public Library comparing the number of books read by men and women for the period of 4 years from 2011 to 2014

From the graph, we can note that there has been a significant rise in the number of books read by men. It is also clear that though the number of books read by women gradually rose at the beginning, it dropped after 2013. So as a whole, books read by women exceeded men by nearly 2000 in 2011 whereas the data finishes off by men leading women by 7000 books in 2014.

Looking at the book count read by men, it shows a consistent rise. However, steep rise is observed between 2012 and 2013 when it increased from 4000 books to 10000 books. Thus men started by reading 3000 books in 2011 and ended up reading 14000 books in 2014 which is an increase by 11000 books

Meanwhile, 5000 books were read by women in 2011 and after a consistent rise in 2012 and 2013 to 7000 and 9000 books respectively, it faced a dip to 7000 books in 2014. But there is a positive difference of 2000 books read by women between 2011 and 2014.. It is also interesting to find that the number of books read by both men and women is same in the year of 201
