It is true to say that in the new millennium people pay too much attention to monetary things
It is true to say that in the new millennium people pay too much attention to monetary things. However, some people aver that consumerism culture has transformed our lifestyle in a positive way. By my reckoning, there are strong views on both sides of the argument which should not be ignored.
On the one hand, the advocates of purchasing state of the art facilities assert that these products could bring tangible benefits to our daily lifestyle. As a case in point, buying a vacuum cleaner or microwave oven ease the household chores considerably, which may lead to the greater satisfaction of life. In addition to this, consumer culture could create new job opportunities for the general public. Many people could be employed in the production line, and selling these products. This, in turns, contributes to higher satisfaction of life among the workforce in the society.
On the other hand, it is claimed that it is not only unethical to pay too much attention to material things but also destructive for the vulnerable dwellers. It is unequivocal to say that wealthy rich people could enjoy their life to the fullest in the monetary world. They could afford anything they desire without donating the sum of their emolument to charities and humanitarian organizations. This situation could happen due to promoting consumerism customs and ignoring moral values. In such a context, the destitute citizens may feel resentment and yearn to take revenge from their fellow citizens by committing petty crimes. As an illustration, burglary, and shoplifting are on the increase in societies suffering from a widespread financial gap between their residents.
To sum up, according to the aforementioned remarks, it is crystal clear that money plays a paramount role in almost every aspect of people lives and could enhance their condition astonishingly, provided that it is spent sagaciously and ethically.
