The maps show the changes in the construction of Frenton over a 22 year period between 1990 and 2012.
It is evident that Frenton has experienced a significant development in terms of construction throughout the period, obviously becoming more urbanised and less green.
Starting from the western side of High Street, the only two places that have remained the same in the town were the school and the library. The playing fields east of the school were converted to flats and apartments. Another thing, the tree area down in the southwest were cut down providing space for a
new technopark. Also, a noticeable development is the expansion of the hospital as well as the restaurant which was before a bank.
Moving to the eastern side, firstly, more and more flats were installed on northwest and instead of the housing area. The park and cafe, however, made way for a hotel and a golf course. Lastly, both the theatre and shop region became a cinema and supermarket, respectively.
