The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two maps illustrate the status of Islip town centre now and how town centre will be seen after development. Basically, the first map illustrate the current, while the second map illustrate the predicted future after development is done.

It is clear that most obvious change are done to the Main Road. Normally the road is running through west to east, and it is located in the north of town, but after development, instead of main road, a ring road is planned to construct. Various other developmets like opening new shows, establishing new housing will accompany the building of this ring road.

Currently, there are shops along both side of the main road. On the other hand, school is located in the south-west, while the park is located in the south-east. Both of these structures are connected to the main road by side roads. There is a huge place for housing in the south.

With the development, new facilities like Bus station, Shopping Center and Car park are planned to build. The shops that are normally located on the north zone will be replaced with these new facilities, while the shops that are located on the contrast side will be maintained for the future. Park space will be decreased to open new areas for housing. School will be at the same place. The main road will be converted to pedestrian road.
