Given are two maps illustrating the transformation of the town of Lynnfield from 1936 to 2007. According to the pictures, the city had witnessed a considerable development of residential area at the vicinity of the river. Core of the city, however, had kept its original shape with some few changes.
Looking the map in more details, it can be seen that a civilization had shaped near the river which was a vacant land before. There is also an increase in the number of trees in the north west of the city. Moreover, the primary cycle path gave its place to a new road. Although the government office and farmland did not demolish, they converted to a museum and golf course, respectively.
The city had a rectangular central area with four intersections which can also be seen in 2007 map. Post office, Bank, and library stayed in their previous location with no alteration. Nonetheless, a supermarket had been constructed by merging previous sweet shop and butchers, and a shopping market had fielded the empty center of the core.
In overall, the growth of the residential area near the river can be mentioned as the most striking change of the town. Moreover. Some constructions, Government office for instance, converted to use for another function, while some others (such as library) had not changed during this approximately 70-year period.
