The graph delivers information about Australians residential areas who were born within and outside their country, measured in percentage, between 1995 and 2010.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the number of people accomodating in cities accounted for the most of total population, regardless of where they were born. In addition, this figure of individuals living in rural areas experienced a significant decrease in 15 years, whereas town population dropped at a slower rate. Interestingly, the amount of people living in metropolis grew tremendously.

In 1995, citizens born outside Australia held the highest proportion of 60% while the percentage of those born in Australia stood at approximately 50%. In contrast, town residents who were born in and outside Australia only contributed 20% and 12% respectively.

In 2010, it is clear that there was an upward trend in people living in cities, adding about 13-20% to proportions of prior period. This explains for the fact that rural accomodators born in Australia went down by almost a third and this figures of individuals born outside Australia is more noticable. Silmutaneously, town residents witnessed the same trend but at a slower rate.
