The pie charts compare units of fuel sources which uses to generate electricity in Australia and France in two years: 1980 and 2000.

Overall, the total production of both countries experienced an upward trend. Additionally, while Australia promoted the consumption of coal, France increased the consumption of nuclear power.

The units of coal used to produce electricity in Australia rose by 80 units after two years, this figure for hydropower also increased slightly up to 36%. Oil and natural gas, in contrast, witnessed a significant decline by 10 times lower and only 2 unis of them were used in 2000.

Coal and natural gas were the two main sources to generate electricity in France in 1980, which was 25 units. However, in 2000, while coal remained its units, natural gas collapsed significantly to 2 units after two years. Hydropower declined by 3 units whereas oil climbed tediously by 5 units. Nuclear, especially, experienced a remarkable increase in consumption since its units in 2000 were 10 times higher than the 1980's and stood at 126 units in 2000.

In conclusion, while Australia kept focusing on producing electricity by coal, France altered the main source form coal and natural gas to nuclear power.
