The pie charts illustrate the amount of electricity generated in Germany and France in 2009. The units are measured in percentages.

Overall, the quantity of electricity produced by Germany is greater than the amount that is generated by France. It is evident that more than half of Germany's electricity is conventional Thermal whereas France highly depended on Nuclear energy. Furthermore, Germany had created electricity through various renewable resources.

To begin, 59.6% of Germany's electric power is generated through coal, whereas, France produced only 10.3% using the same resource. 23% of electricity is generated through Nuclear energy by Germany, whereas, more than three-fourths of power is generated through Nuclear energy by France.

In terms of Renewable resources, Germany had 17.4% comprised of total production. This includes production from sources like Biomass making 39.3%, Wind making 36.9%, Hydroelectricity making 17.7%, and Solar power making 6.1%.On the other hand, France had 80.5% provided from Hydroelectricity,10.5% from Wind, 8.1% from Biomass and a negligible amount of 0.9% from Solar energy.
