You are part of a group of musicians who meet on Tuesday and Friday evenings to practise in the community hall.

You have been told, however, that it is no longer possible for the group to use the hall.

Write a letter to the manager. In the letter:

describe what the group does

explain why the group is good for the community

suggest alternative days and times for practice

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to ask your permission regarding the use of community hall for our music sessions. We are a band of five friends and been using the auditorium for the last three years. We play jazz and opera twice a week on every Tuesday and Friday. Our practice continues for only four hours in the evening. It is a sort of free of cost concert where the general public has an open invitation.

I am sure that the audience enjoys the music and it is cheap entertainment for them. As you know, in our small town people do not have many recreational activities. So, our opera sessions are a source of enjoyment for the residents.

Unfortunately, I came to know about the recent notification. According to which we are not allowed to use the hall on the days we used to jam. I request you to find an alternate way. I am sure that if we shift to Wednesday and Saturday evening, it will not be a problem for you too. Please permit us to play our music on these days from 5 pm to 7 pm.

I hope your response at your earliest.

Yours Sincerely,

Wajeeha Umer
