I am writing to express my grievances regarding garbage collection in my area, Bedok South Avenue. Over the last few weeks the garbage collection van, which would collect the trash daily, has become infrequent. Sometimes they do not arrive for days consequently causing the rubbish, especially bio-degradable waste, to rot and reek foul odor.
Let me explain in detail. Firstly, due to the onset of monsoon it is absolutely imperative to dispose off trash regularly in order to avoid it getting pilled up. Since the garbage van schedule has become irregular, our neighborhood has become smelly and inhabitable to live. Secondly, the rains wash away the garbage into the nearby drainage system, thus resulting in flooding during excessive rains, for the drains have been clogged. Lastly, the has been a spike in the number of rats and and other insect infestation, that was not prevalent earlier.
Keeping our situation in mind, I would you please take immediate action and ensure the garbage is collected daily. Furthermore, we request you to please clean the drains and also conduct fumigation in our area.
