Dear Mr. Mayor,
My name is Augustine Nguyen who is a resident in the area of Bendale, Scarborough. I am writing to complain about the fact that the roads in my neighbourhood are in poor conditions of hygiene, and garbage could be found in any corner of the street.
first of all, I would like to inform you that the roads in the Bendale area where I am living have been covered my wet and melting snow and dirt for over a week; nevertheless, there have been no individuals or organizations taking charge of this issue. In fact, not only does this problem adversely impact the safety of pedestrians, it also significantly affects the smooth of local traffic. another problem that I would like to mention is that the tendency in which people discharge garbage irresponsibly on the street seems to become increasingly and alarmingly popular. Needless to say, our citizens’ living habitat is dramatically polluted, bringing us a sense of discomfort.
Obviously, there are several causes contributing to those mentioned problems. Firstly, the company name Villar John which is responsible for garbage collecting and road cleaning a few days ago responded to my complains, with the excuse that they are running out of staff so the situation seemed to be out of their control. another cause worth mentioning is that people discharge waste irresponsibly due to the fact that our area is lack of public garbage bins on the street.
I would like to suggest some solutions to tackle the issue. First and foremost, we should replace Villar John company and find another replacement immediately. Next, more street cameras should be installed to identify those doing illegal garbage dumping on the street. Besides, the city should come up with and enforce stricter punishments for this type of violence.
