Respected Sir,
Greetings of the day. I'm supposed to join and start work by next week, which is the 8th of January 2018. I regret to inform you that i will not be able to join work on the said date.
Sir unfortunately, my grandfather passed away today. He was sick and hospitalized for weeks. Since i have to relocate to start working in your company, i wouldn't be able to do so. Sir I'm his only grandchild and he had certain wishes, which i really want to fulfill. For me to complete all the rituals would take atleast a couple of weeks. I was really looking forward to my first day at work with excitement and enthusiasm. Sad demise of my beloved grandpa I wouldn't be able to make it on your said date. It would be kind of you, if you could allow me to join on the 23rd of January 2018.
I would be grateful if you could oblige to my request, considering the nature of the event.
