Dear Sir/madam,
I am writing this letter to ask your permission to take a leave from work starting from 8th August. As you know that I am pursing my masters from XYZ university and my final exams are going to start so a week leave would allow me to complete my exams and I am hoping that you will grant my leave.

The reason for taking time off work is to prepare and set for my final exams which will begin from next week. I understand the inconvenience this might cause to you. But I can assure you that I will check the emails perhaps reply to some of them and be available for emergency phone calls from the office. Once I complete my exams and get back to the office. Moreover, I would endeavor to come into the office earlier than usual and work Sundays in order to catch up on anything I had missed.

Furthermore, I will talk to jack and he will share some of my responsibilities during my absence. I would really grateful if you could allow me the time off as it is really important for me complete my masters.

Looking forward to hear from a positive reply from you soon.

Yours sincerely
XYZ
