You live in an English speaking country and you want to do some voluntary, unpaid work in a developing country. Write a letter to a company called Cultural Expeditions, which organizes such trips. In your letter:
• Explain why you want to do the voluntary work.
• State what your skills and experience are.
• Indicate where you would like to volunteer and for how long.
Begin your letter as follows: Dear Sir / Madam
You should write at least 150 words. You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Bhawna Sharma and I am writing to express my interest in working with your voluntary organization. I learned about your work from a weekly magazine ‘The tribune’ and would like to be associated with a reputed charity organization like yours.

I am currently studying Modern Arts and Culture Program from New York University and am required to participate in voluntary work as part of my last year's thesis report. I have a keen interest in doing voluntary work and have previously worked with the “Khalsa” group to organize meals for flood-affected people in Kerela, India. Apart from this, I hold an experience of cooking and serving food on religious ceremonies in Gurudwara. Here, I would like to extend my contribution to cooking meals on your trips abroad. In addition to this, I can speak Hindi, Punjabi and Mandarin fluently.

If given a chance I would like to be part of your coming tour to Cambodia in August. Moreover, I assure you that I would be available on Saturdays and Sundays till the commencement of my academic session from September.
I hope you would consider my credentials and provide me the opportunity to work with your organization. If considered, I am available for an interview this week.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours Faithfully,
Bhawna Sharma
