Essay topics:

You live in a room in college which you share with another student.
However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it
very difficult to work.

Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In your letter

describe the situation

explain your problems and why it is difficult to work

say what kind of accommodation you would prefer

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my discomfort about my accommodation at the college.

My name is David Watson and have enrolled for Master course in New York University. I moved into the college apartment last month. Everything was fine until the new roommate arrived. He has a habit of playing loud music all the time which distracts me completely.

The type of my course requires frequent submission of assignments which involves a deep research for any given topic. While working for such assignments, focus and concentration is mandatory. How would I able to maintain the requisite level of concentration in such a noisy place? Evaluation of such assignments are the basis of my results. Despite of multiple requests, my roommate plays immensely loud music.

For me to finish off my assignments on time, I would require a quieter place. I will prefer sharing room with someone pursing similar course so that he will know the importance of maintaining etiquette. Hence, i would request you to switch my apartment at the earliest.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
XYZ
