You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he / she should get a job. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter:
1. Say why he / she would not enjoy going to college
2. Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him / her
3. Suggest types of jobs that would be suitable for him / her
Dear Yakuvu,
I am so happy hearing from you, and thanks again for having me over for Christmas last December; I must say it was a memorable experience and everything I go through my gallery and see the pictures we took, I am glad I made the right decision honouring your invitation.
Taking up a job is now better than enrolling for a degree at the college because of the economic situations in Nigeria. most employers prefer to employ secondary school levers instead of graduates, to reduce cost and maximize profits. For example, the organization I work has suspended recruiting college degree holders ,they rather employ Olevel graduate so as to pray minimal salary on contract basis only.
Please apply for vacancies in customer services oriented roles, so that you can run your degree program on part time basis, as most of the opening comes with flexible working hours . Which will allow you work and earn something to support your family.
Hoping you consider this and make a good decision.
Regards.
