Dear Monica,
I am glad you have finally come around to the idea of learning to drive. You cannot begin to imagine how your life will change once you get your driving licence.
Speaking my own experiences, having a licence opens up a whole new range of possiblities. You have the freedom to go where you want without having to restrict yourself to the vagaries of public transport or be dependent on someone to drive you to your destination.
But first things first. You need to find a good driving school with supportive and patient instructors. I thoroughly recommend the Ace driving school in the town centre. If you sign up for a course of lessons there, I am sure you would not be disappointed! All the instructors there are very professional and dedicated. If, however, you don't hit it off with one instructor, no-one will mind if you change instructors. It happens more often than you might imagine.
I think it would be good idea to sign up for a course of 20 lessons to begin with, so you can get a special discount. You will probably need a few more than 20 lessons, though, to become proficient, especially now as you have to sit a computer-based exam which tests your theoretical knowledge of driving.
Finally, If you don't pass your driving test first time, don't worry. Few people do, so don't give up!
Well, that's all for now. I hope my advice has been of use to you! I look forward to hearing how you are getting on with your driving lessons.
Love,
Susie
