Recent figures show an increase in violent crime among youngsters under the age of 18. Some psychologist claims that the basic reason for this is that children these days not getting the social and emotional learning they need from parents and teachers.

Before giving my opinion about the fact about increases in violent crime under age of 18, I would like to mention teenager’s psychological change in both mental and physical state. This child to adolescent change made teenagers more fragile, sensitive and easier to get into bad habit. For this reason, I am agreeing with the fact that there is increase in crime among youngster. I have three statement to support my opinion based on my experience.
First, in modern world, any information can be found from internet, especially harmful information such as fatal ritual activity, self-injuring game and drugs and so on. For example, my closest experience is that my younger sister tried to cut her arms to make her familiar to her peers. This habit might lead teenagers like my sisters, to make crime to prove her cool appearance.
Secondly, 24/7 social life is one of the biggest bad influence to teenager’s behavior. In social life, they tend to do abnormal things to look different from others. For so, they share their wicked acts to social media continuously until it considered normal and cool. Also another support is that criminal movies that is showing cruel and voilent action. These things gives bad influence to teenagers especially who are in unstable mental change.
Lastly, when I was teenager, there was plenty of activities which made my teen life busy, but today, teens tends to prefer offline in internet world. This might made them more free but boring time. Imagine staying home all day scrolling social network, boring isnt it. To do something interesting, teenagers might involve something serious like involving in crime.
In conclustion, the fact that there is a increase in violent crime under age is true. The reason is not only social and emotional learning from parents but also external world is affecting more. This might include, too many harmful information, 24/7 social life and less physical activity.
