Experts throughout both the developed and developing world would have debated on the benefits and drawbacks of modern inventions. Some believe that modern infections have negative benefits on people’s lives, personally, I believe otherwise. This essay will argue both the sides using examples to demonstrate points and prove arguments.
On the other hand, modern inventions have several benefits but they do have negative effects which cannot be overlooked. Today, thanks to inventions people are able to connect across the world, but at the same time, people are becoming secluded from their near and dear ones. For instance, earlier family and friends bonded with each other by meeting regularly, however, since the invention of phones, family and friends now prefer to talk or message instead of meeting personally. Additionally, the modern inventions also affects the health of people. For example, an extensive study by WHO showed that around 40% of people suffer from neck pain as they spend most of the time bending their neck while using their smart phones. Thus, it is possible to state beyond doubt that the modern inventions not only affects the relationships but also their well-being.
On the one hand, there is ample evidence that states that modern inventions have been beneficial for people. The central reason behind this is twofold, firstly, modern inventions like WhatsApp, Skype and Facebook have helped break communication barriers among people. Today, people can communicate freely with their relatives, friends, and can also connect with like-minded people across the globe which earlier was not possible. Secondly, the modern inventions have helped in saving time for doing an activity. For example, recent empirical research by Hindustan Times demonstrated that 90% of people have voted that the modern kitchen applies like microwave, coffee maker and food processor have helped in reducing their cooking time. Therefore, it is conclusively clear that modern inventions are considered boon as they help in reducing the time taken to complete any work.
From the arguments and examples given I firmly believe that modern inventions have helped humanity but at the same time have affected the relationship building skills and health. I believe that a balance needs to be maintain to lead a healthy and happy life.
