Some college teachers prefer to ask students to watch or listen to a recorded lecture before class. In class, they will ask students to do more practices about what they have learned the lecture. Do you think this is an effective way and why?
Each college teacher determines to pursue various types of lectures. While some professors adore asking students to watch a recorded lecture before class, some deliver students ordinary lectures in courses. It is so controvertible for them to decide a specific effective way. In my view, they should not urge students to watch videos before each class. It is insufficient for students to concentrate on study in their home, spend more time on hobbies instead of videos, and inquire questions teachers as soon as possible.
To begin with, students do not focus on studies with videos in their homes. In the home, technologies, families, and pets distract passion obtained by people who want to study. Take myself an example, there is a computer near my desk where I always study assignments from my university. Once I select a break from homework, I continue to watch videos of basketball. As a result, I am not capable of devoting my study in my home. Therefore, it is a waste of time to study with recorded videos before beginning classes.
Secondly, watching a recorded lecture for students diminishes the time to consuming on their hobbies. They establish bountiful personalities through several hobbies. If they like to play sports with friends, they sometimes will be communicative people because they have to communicate with others for strategies and wins. Moreover, they choose future goals for their hobbies. People who love making products by technologies want to be a computer engineer. Consequently, universities should not use the method of teaching with a recorded video.
Finally, teachers do not provide opportunities for students to ask concerns by a recorded video as soon as possible. Students who come up with inquires against their lecturer raise a hand and ask questions in the classroom. It is so significant for them to boost their knowledge and communication skills. On the other hand, the students have to be tolerant of inquiring into their teachers until the next lectures. It definitely decreases students’ learning pace of growth.
To sum up, colleges should not emphasize on the study with a recorded video before starting lectures against students. I surely believe that students cannot converge on the study in their residence, consume their time on hobbies, and query teachers about questions as soon as possible.
