The article disscuses about the suralose which is an artificial sweetener and its danger for the body. In the lecture, the professor makes a series of points that cast doubts on all the arguments presented in the reading passage. He states many studies showed that sucrolose is perfectly useful for the people and is also safe.
First of all, he states that effecting in mouse thymus which is pointed in the article is dependent to the dose. He clarifies that no effect was seen on the rat unless they used a lot of amount of them. For having effect on thymus people have to use 4000 packed per day per month which is not possible and reasonable and nobody use them this much.
Also, the lecturer refutes the effect of sucrolose on fat tissue. In contrast of the idea presented in the reading, clorine in sucrolose has different characteristic to other forms which are toxic for the body. In fact, sucrolose do not absorb by digestive system and hence do not accumluate in the body. So,There is no build up in fat tissue and harm for the body.
Lastly, the professor states for other artificial sweetener using them may crave people to use more sweets and cakes but sucrolose do not break down when heated. Therefore, people can use it in cakes and sweets and be still in their diet and be on track and lose weight. In contrary, use of other sweetener may encourage people to eat sweet more which has lots of sugur and make them obese. Other sweetener will breakdown when are heated and do not have this capability.
