Buying a Franchise. Franchise benefits.
In this set of materials, the reading passage discusses that franchise is a very safe and reliable way to start a business for beginner people. While in the listening the professor casts doubt on what was presented in the text and believes that if you study franchise closely, you can find some points which call it into the question.
First of all, in the text, it is clearly mentioned that through franchise business owners have easier access to supplies and goods they need. however, the professor claims that franchise force business owners to buy some specific types of equipment and goods and tighten business possessor. For example, if there were some cheaper supplies in makers, they would not have this allow to buy and use those stuff.
In addition, the professor disagrees with this idea that the franchise is beneficial for business owners in order to decrease their advertising costs. She says that business owners pay about 60 per cent of their income to the original company. Nonetheless, the franchise company do not advertise only their products, but they advertise the company's brand.
Finally, in the text, it is stated that staring their own business through franchise would be more secure than an independent business. The professor subscribes that someone believes that starting a business by the franchise is less risky. however, they do not account some already existed previous companies. The survey shows that independent companies have twice more chance of success than franchising business.
