Colonization in Astroids

Essay topics:

Colonization in Astroids

The reading and the lecture are both about colonization in Asteroid. The author of the reading feels that there are several reasons to make living in asteroid reasonable. The lecturer challenged the claims made by the author. He is of opinion that it is not practical to colonize Astroid and have serious sides down.
First, the author of the reading argues that colonization in Asteroid is good because of low gravity. The article mentions that low gravity can help with ease of landing of the spaceship and load a lot of colonization equipment and ease of taking off the spaceship. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that low gravity has more health risks. Additionally, he says that low gravity can cause loss of bone density and loss of muscle mass.
Secondly, the writer suggests that colonization in Asteroid is good because of mining valuable metals. In the article, it is said that asteroid is rich with valuable elements that are rare to find on earth and will be profitable to send them to earth. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by mentioning that metals seem profitable, but we need to take into consideration additional factors. He elaborates on this by bringing up the point that these factors can be a high cost to transport those metals to earth and there is no guarantee that the price of the metal will be the same because there will be a lot of metals so there is no need to sell them at a high price.
Finally, the author posits that colonization in Asteroid will be good because it is easy to reach. Moreover, the article stated that Asteroids are easy to reach because from time to time they become near to the earth and easy to go to Asteroids and come back from them. In contrast, the lecturer's position is that it is easy to reach Asteroids, but it is difficult to go back to earth. He notes that when Asteroids be near from earth it is easy to go to it, but the asteroids will not stay near from earth and according to orbit it might be in a distance from earth and it will be difficult to go back to earth.
