Deforestation forests trees clearing large areas of land

Essay topics:

Deforestation, forests, trees, clearing large areas of land

The article introduces the topic of deforestation, which is the concept of clearing large areas of forests of all trees. The writer of the article mainly discusses the advantages of deforestation and thinks there are plenty of benefits. However, the professor does not agree with this point of view. He thinks we should also consider the long-term consequences of deforestation, which he thoroughly explains during the lecture.
First of all, the author states that clearing large areas of land helps us to produce more food. The professor strongly disagrees with this argument. He mentions that we could also consider alternative ways of farming, which do not necessarily acquire cutting down trees and clearing forests. Thus, the lecturer strongly believes there are plenty of other ways to create food.
Furthermore, according to the author, the cleared land can be very useful to arrange new living spaces and new residential buildings. With the global population that has increased over the last few years, consequently, the demand for houses has also risen. In contrast, the professor thinks that we should not destroy the current ecosystem for our selfish economic needs. Moreover, he thinks it is irresponsible to simply cut down trees for our own welfare needs.
Lastly, the writer of the article mentions the forestry industry. If we would stop cutting down trees and shut the industry down, the employees in the forestry industry would not have a job anymore. Again, the lecturer believes there are flaws in this argument. He notices that all of the countries mentioned in the article are developing countries, so not representative of the western world. Additionally, the professor states that the forestry industry is quite a dangerous business field, and most of the money will go to the owners of the companies, instead of the actual employees.
In conclusion, it is clear that both the writer of the article and the lecturer have conflicting views about clearing forests.
