The professor in the lecture refutes that the passage. Dinosaurs are referred as endotherms which is animals keep their body temperatures constant. However, the lecturer gave three against reasons.
First, about discovery of the fossils in polar region is not support the idea because when dinosaurs are alive, polar area was warmer than today. Also, when it was getting cold in severe winter season, they might migrate to warmer area.
Second, leg position and movement is considered as reason. The reading material have shown that all modern endotherms have legs underneath the body to sustain their physical activity such as running. In contrast, the professor said that the position of legs are for support their weight. The legs are needed to sustain their large body.
Third, about bone structure. Haversian canals is the structure which endotherms usually have. The professor mentioned about growth rings which is in their bone structure. This ring showed that dinosaurs stop growing or slowly in cold time so they are not endotherms.
