First reading article state that, through the genetic modification researchers can produce better crops that would take hundred years to produce by any other way. However, the professor refutes this point by saying that whatever researchers do with genetic modification they cannot achieve the same quality of crop that produce by nature.

Second, the article posits that genetically modified food is safe and these foods must pass through the extensive testing. On the other side, professor states that the quality of food is still had some question marks. According to the professor, the organizations that do the food testing rarely publish the results of the testing to avoiding their product to be copied by some other organization.

Third, the reading states that underdeveloped countries alleviate the food shortage and famine by the genetic modification because these type of plants also able to survive in less water. The professor opposes this point by explaining that lack of infrastructure for distribution for food also leads to food shortage and these types of crops are not stable for the underdeveloped countries economy.
