Some people believe that nowadays life has become more convenient and relaxing while others strongly oppose this viewpoint and contend that it is tougher and more stressful than before. Personally, I believe that life is more comfortable than our grandparents when they were children. I support this idea for two main reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.
First of all, technologically advanced gadgets namely, smart phones, smart watches, and home appliances, such as washing machines, microwave oven have reduced human efforts by a significant amount. For instance, we no longer have to perform excrutiating mathematical calculations or wash clothes by hands as these tasks are easily done by machines at our disposal. Such technologies were not available to our grandparents who had to perform each and every task by hand which made their life hectic and stressful.
Secondly, today’s generation enjoys myriad means of transportation, such as cars, motorbikes and public buses which have further made our life convenient. For instance, our grandparents primarily used cycles for travelling from place to another. Cycles not only took exorbitated amount of time but also were prone to accidents. It was highly dangerous for them to travel with family on the bicycle. In contrast, nowadays, we are able to travel thousands of miles with family without thinking of accidents.
However, some may argue that life has become more stressful as people nowadays, are working longer hours than ever before and do not live their life as peacefully as our grandparents used to live. I do agree with them to some extent; however, I believe that employees who are working under pressure constitute only a small percentage of the overall population as the major proportion enjoy their work and are highly satisfied. They should rather find alternative jobs or business that they truly love and reap the benefits in the era of sophisticated gadgets which make our life comfortable.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that today's generation life is more comfortable than ever before because of the reasons mentioned above.
