Rembrandt

Essay topics:

Rembrandt

The summary of the points made in the lecture is as follows;
The panel of the experts stated that, the original painting did not have the fur collar and it was added afterward by other person, maybe to increase the value of the painting. This shows that the original painting was indeed a painting from Rembrandt and was tempered with almost after a period of 100 years.
Also, the face is shown illuminated with a light from below, it is because the original painting had a white collar. This was determined after the fur colour pigments were removed. So as the collar was white in colour ,it would reflect the light from below instead of absorbing the light. Thus, the master of painting light and shadow did his best while painting it and it is indeed a painting of Rembrandt.
And finally, the issue of wooden board of the back of the painting, there was a single piece in the original painting. And then new extensions were added afterwards, probably by the same person as the one who added fur to the painting with the same reason, to increase the value of the painting.
Due to all these alterations made by other people the current painting looks different from paintings made by Rembrandt. And the panel came to conclusion that the painting is indeed a painting of Rembrandt.
