Sending Astronauts to Mars - The problems

The text and the lecture offer two opposing views on whether or not human's travel to Mars is possible. While the reading passage lists problems that make it hard for humans to go to Mars, the professor contradicts the reasons given by the author, and states that although going to Mars would be a challenging project, there are ways to address each one of the problems stated in the reading.
First, the passage claims that astronauts will encounter lack of resources such as food, water, and oxygen during their trip because antithetical to the Moon's project which lasts only a few days, this journey will last at least two years. Storing resources for such a huge amount of time would be difficult. However, the professor asserts that there is a solution for this issue. Astronauts can cultivate plants in the spacecraft with an approach named "hydroponics". By doing so, they can use the plants as food source and the oxygen produced to breathe, and there are not heavy resources to take with which will perpetrate difficulties.
Next, the reading states that astronauts who want to travel to Mars need to remain in zero gravity conditions for months, and this will lower their muscle mass and bone density. On the contrary, the professor mentions previous experiences of astronauts staying several months in zero gravity conditions. In her view, there are a lot techniques that can be utilized to prevent health issues caused by zero gravity. As an example, she speaks about exercising which can keep the astronauts muscle mass high. In addition, the lecturer explains that taking some vitamins and calcium and regularly, consuming them can preserve the astronauts' bone density.
Finally, the text states that solar radiations cause a serious problem for astronauts. In contrast, the professor repudiates this claim by declaring that solar radiations are not dangerous all the time. They are sporadic. Some times the radiations exist and other times they are absent. Moreover, there are some kind of shelters which are not heavy that can be utilized. Thus, astronauts can rest under the shelters during times of severe solar radiation, and do their jobs while the radiations does not exist.
