summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the points that several reasons to explain why it is impossible for human to maintain a permanent presence on Venus mentioned in the reading passage

In the reading passage, the auther discusses that it is impossible for human to maintain a permanent presence on Venus since the conditions are extreme and inhospitable, while the lecture claims that what the passage state is not convincing and disputes those ideas presented in the passage with several proofs.
Firstly, according to the reading passage, it is suggested that atmospheric pressure on Venus's surface is 90 times greater than the pressure at Earth's surface so that almost anything humans might land on Venus would be crushed. In contrast, the professor argues in the lecture that high up in the atmosphere, the pressure would be much lower than at the surface. To be more specific, 50 kilometers up in the atmosphere, the apressure is equal to the normal Earth's face. In this case, there would be nothing be crushed.
In addition, the statement in the reading material indicates that there are no reservoiers of water and enough oxygen on Venus and it is impractical to supply of water and oxygen from Earth. On the contrary, the professor points out that Venus contain some components such as carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. Both these chemical materials could use to make water and oxygen. Therefore, people do not need to worry about lack of water and oxygen.
Finally, the author of the reading claims that little sunlight can get through the clouds and the clouds can blocks even more light, thus humans could not get electricity to power their machines and equipment since very little light reaches the surface. However, the speaker argues that clounds above 50 kilometers are thin, so there would be some sunlight filter through. Moreover, the cloud could reflect sunlight, hence the cells could collect the direct light and the reflect ones. There will be enough electricity generated to power the station.
