TPO-03 - Integrated Writing Task Rembrandt is the most famous of the seventeenth-century Dutch painters. However, there are doubts whether some paintings attributed to Rembrandt were actually painted by him. One such painting is known as attributed to Rem

The reading passage states that the painting of an elderly woman is not drawn by Dutch painter Rembrandt because of the fur color, the structure of light and shadow and the clued wood of the painting. However, the lecturer cast doubt on the each of the author's point.

First and foremost, the reading suggests that the woman seems inconsistent dressed while the Rembrandt pay attention to the details a lot. On the other hand, the professor said that recent studies which uses the modern brand new technologies such as X-Ray show that the fur color added in order to improve the quality of painting hundred years after the image was made.

Secondly, the passage indicates that the Rembrandt is the master of the light and shadow that are not fit in the elderly woman's painting. In contrast, the lecturer argues when the color of the painting removed, the light and shadow fit really well which prove that it is painted by Rembrandt.

Lastly, the article states that many pieces of wood glued together in the elderly's painting which is not the same as the Rembrandts' who uses only one piece of wood all the time. The professor made a counterclaim to the point by explaining that the original painting was painted on a single wood and when the colors added, the people added the other pieces in order to make it wider. According to her, the original painting was painted on a wood that is similar to one of the paintings of Rembrandt.
