TPO-07 - Integrated Writing Task In an effort to encourage ecologically sustainable forestry practices, an international organization started issuing certifications to wood companies that meet high ecological standards by conserving resources and recyclin

The passage and the lecture are mainly about atittude of American wood companies to ecocertification. The passage claims that American wood companies won't chase to receive the ecoceitification, because of the listed three reasons--American people's untrust to advertising claims, the generally higher price of the ecocertified wood, and the lack of need to keeping up with the foreign companies. However, the lecture don't think so.

To begin with, the passage states that people in America are always surrounded by the advertisments so that they may not pay attention to the ecocertification label. On the other hand, the lecture illustrates that American would distinguish the products' advertisements and then determine if could trust them. Furthermore, the international organization which issues ecocertifications has a good reputation in America. Thus, the American people could trust the certificated products. In this case, these American wood companies have the need to receive the ecocertification.

Meanwhile, the passage think the ecocertificated products are more expensive than the others, so the comstomers may choose other products; yet the lecture expresses that if the price margin is lower than 5%, the price effects could be overshadowed by other factors. For example, people's love to the ecocertificated products.

Besides, the passage think the influence of other foreign companies is still slim, so, they don't need to chase the certification like the latter. On the contrary, the lecture states that in the American wood market there are not only local companies take the competition. Then, it is risky that foreign companies may win the ecocertificational products' market.
