The article states that reducing one work day would benefit both employee and employers by providing three reasons to support. However, The professor explains that reducing work day is not a good idea and refutes each of author's reasons.

First, The reading claims that company can save money. Professor refutes this point by saying that more employee means more expenditure. The company need to train the new employees and provide medical benefit for them. Company need more office space and computers for new employees. So, according to professor, company will be spending more money because of increased employee number.

Second, the article points that four week day work will create more job vacancy and harm about. However, the professor says that hiring is costly for company. The company might just force their employee to work overtime or company might raise expectation from employee. Will make the job unpleasant for employee.

Third, the reading says that employee can spend more time with family and have some private leisure time. However, the professor opposes this point by explaining that company will prefer a employee who work five day a week. Employees who work four day a week is More likely to loose their job when there is a cut down. So, It will decrease their job stability. Also, employees who work five day a week is more likely to get promoted because company will want a manager who stays around for the whole week While he is needed.
