TPO-10 - Integrated Writing Task

The passage is about the hypothesis concerns the decline in the number of sea otters in the Alaskan coast. It stipulates that there are two possible explanations for this decline: first, environmental pollution, second, attacks by predators. The passage asserted that the environmental hypothesis is more like to cause declination. On the other hand, the professor is of the opinion that the decrease in otter's population is a consequence of the presence on predators. In what follows, I will check the passage's assertion with the professor's.

First, the passage states that there is a source of pollution along the Alaskan coast that points to the conclusion that this source is the main delinquent of declination in otter's population. Contrarily, the professor cast suspicion on this thesis and stipulates that this if this was true, there would be a numerable of the otter's coast on the coast.

Second, the passage holds the opinion that the declination can be seen in other species too. This mass declination suggests that pollution affected all the creatures. I the sea. On the contrary, side, the professor believes that the predators that prefer to prey on specific animals, after declination in the preferred species, they prey on another small animal. By doing so, they affect all the species presented to the sea.

Third, the passage asserted that an uneven decline in the number of sea otters is a prefigure of the existence of pollution in the sea. On the other hand, the professor takes the view that the unequal decline is a consequence of the uneven distribution of predators that tend to live in deep areas and are unable to live in deep areas. Because of this, we see a declination only in deep areas and there is not a decrease in the number of otters in shallow areas.
Given the aforementioned reasons, the professor thinks that the possibility of predators to be the main reason of otter's declination is higher than of the possibility of pollution to be the main cause.
