The reading and the lecture both are about "archaeologist". the author of the reading believes in last decades of 1990 the science of archaeology was faced with serious problems and limitations in Britain and career opportunities in archaeology. The lecturer challenges the statements made the author. The professor explained three aspects of the new guidelines adopted in the United Kingdom, each of which has successfully addressed the problems mentioned in the reading passage.

First of all, the author suggests that many valuable artifacts were lost to construction projects. This argument is challenged by the lecture. The professor says any construction project must undergo an evaluation process in order for the archaeological value of the site to be ascertained and a panel of experts is convened to draw up a preservation plan.

Secondly, the writer contends that many archaeologists felt that the financial support for archaeological research was inadequate. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by asserting that the converted the responsibility for funding archaeological work from the government to construction companies.

Finally, it is stated in the article that it was difficult to have a career in archaeology. The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that she thanks to the new guidelines, many skillful, full-time archaeological experts and professionals are now needed to handle work at various stages of the archaeological investigation, research, and preservation.
