The article states that there is some limitation due to the problems that archaeologists face and provide three reasons of support. The professor, however, explains that a new rule in 1990 was settled that changed the situation for archaeologists that improved their position. Furthermore, she refutes each of the author's reasons.

First, the reading posits that many invaluable objects were lost in construction projects. The professor refutes this point by stating that before any new construction starts the government wanted specialists to examine the interest or value the place to preserve valuable artifacts from excavating.

Second, the article claims that financial support for research was inadequate. However, the professor contends that the archaeologists were working for construction companies and paid by them. In addition, she says that it was not the government that supported this work. It was companies and as a result, they had new financial support which was far greater than before.

Third, the reading averts that there were not enough available positions to be an archaeologist and they did not pay for the work. The lecturer opposes this point by saying that they have been paid much better than any time before and it was the reason that the number of scientists in this field raised as they could have a job as scientists or other jobs.
