TPO-19 - Integrated Writing Task Many consumers ignore commercial advertisements. In response, advertising companies have started using a new tactic, called “buzzing." The advertisers hire people, buzzers, who personally promote (buzz) products to people

The reading states that buzzing has created a lot of discussions and many critics would like to see it banned. However, the buzzer states that the arguments brought by the author are misleading and give readers the wrong impression. He refutes each of the arguments.
First, the article states that the critics complain that consumers should know whether a person praising a product is being paid or not since we expect the truth from the people who do not have any motive to mislead us. The man says that the buzzers are the people who actually liked the product which is advertised not some ordinary people just to make good points about it. Therefore the buzzer really thinks that the product is great and he/she is not giving anybody incorrect information.
Second, critics claim that since buzzers pretend that they are just private individuals, consumers will hear them less critically than they do when they face advertisements on TV or somewhere else. The buzzer refutes this point and says that people usually ask many questions about the product's quality and services and buzzers also have to answer all the questions in order to convince the person.
Third, the critics point out that the worst consequence of this type of advertising is that when once we becomes aware that people we meet socially may be buzzers , we will become less trustful of people in general. However the buzzer mentions that this idea is stupid. He states that companies cannot recruit ordinary people just to give a product some compliments and the buzzer who likes the product usually ends up having a great relationship with the person who finally bought the item since they usually have the same taste for the products.
