The lecture and the article are both about ancient vessels function. The author feels that vessels did not have function as battery and the ancient people used vessels for another purpose and provide three reasons of support. The lecture challenges the claim made by the author. He is of the opinion that these explanations are faulty.
To begin with, the author states that if ancient people used of these vessels as battery, some metal wires should be found as electric conductor. The specific argument is challenged by the lecture. He claims that vessels discoveries are done by rural people. Therefore, maybe wires are founded but rural peoples neglected them and wires were not interesting for them.
Secondly, the writer mentions that jars cooper were similar to copper cylinders that was found in the Seleucia. In Seleucia people used these vessels as holding scroll of sacred texts. The lecture, however, rebuts this by mentioning that at the first people use copper as a texts holder. But as time passed, they use of the copper and iron as battery.
Finally, the author posits that at that time people didn’t have any electric devises to use battery for them. In contrast, the lecture position is that if anyone touch electricity it triggers shock. Some people use of this ability for magic. Additionally he notes that some ancient doctors used of electricity as medical purposes.
